I was born in Norfolk, Virginia and grew up as a Military Brat so growing up I moved quite a few times in my life---some might say too many! My "hometown" is in Eastern North Carolina (to be specific, Morehead City, North Carolina; that's where I spent a good amount of my childhood). My freshman year of High School was when I moved to Knoxville, Tennessee once my dad retired from the Navy. I had always lived at the beach, but I am a mountain girl at heart so this move made it a lot easier even if it meant moving away from family, although that part was hard.
I grew up playing outdoors with my friends. Whether it was swimming, riding bikes, campfires, jumping on the trampoline, or just sitting outside, you could find me outside with at least one of my friends. No matter what activity I was doing that day, I always had my camera. I had to capture those memories because one thing I love to do is to look back at pictures and smile. In elementary school, I received my first camera; a point-and-shoot. Once iPods came out, I saved up and purchased one and then that lead to taking pictures on my iPhone. It wasn't until my Senior year of High School when I considered doing photography as my career. I actually started college doing something completely un-related to photography. After I knew God was telling me that photography was what I was meant to do, I purchased my first DSLR.
I am no doubt a people person and my love language is quality time! Like I said, my camera has always been with me to capture things I want to remember so I can look back at them. This is what makes me such a great photographer. I understand the importance in photographing those memories for you!.
